RESPONDENTS: JOHN SHARP of London, Merchant, the Claimant of 398 Bales of Cotton, Part of the Cargo, as the Property of Messrs. ALTMANN and WINCKELMANN, of Embden, Merchants, Subjects of the King of Prussia. Also against CHARLES BISHOP, Esq. His Majesty s Procurator-General, intervening. CASE ON BEHALF OF THE APPELLANT. 4 pages, with extensive notes in ink on the final page dated 15th April 1809, some old light ink stains, slight brittleness of the outer edges with a few slight tears and slight pieces missing, largish browned / stained area affecting the outed margins of all pages, the final leaf has been cut in such a way as to facilitate the preservation of all the notes in ink by folding over this section prior to the edges being trimmed. CASE ON BEHALF OF HIS MAJESTY. 4 pages, slight brittleness of the outer edges with a few slight tears and slight pieces missing, some fraying of the inner margin of one leaf. JOINT APPENDIX. 30 pages. ADDITIONAL NOTES ON CONDITION: Disbound, 42 x 26 cm., each leaf numbered in ink in the upper corner of the recto in a contemporary hand. Loosely laid into a very torn and frayed brown paper folder of indeterminate age with notes in pencil and crayon regarding the contents on both the front cover and inside rear cover.
