8vo. 5.75 x 8.75 inches. xxx + 423 pp. Bound in original blue cloth, gilt, in pictorial dust wrapper. Some light stains at top of first free endpaper and on fore edge, but otherwise a very good copy. An extensive collection of folk songs and ballads from the bush of the 1890s. Edited by the Australian poets, Douglas Stewart (1913-85) and Nancy Keesing (1933-93). Founded by Patrick Marrin's father George in 1946, Marrin's Bookshop has been based in its current Folkestone location since 1963. Patrick has worked in bookselling since 1970. As well as rare antiquarian books, maps and prints, the stock includes a wide range of literature, library sets, travel, history and illustrated books in all fields. We also offer a bookbinding and restoration service. Visitors to the shop are welcome and we exhibit at UK book fairs.
