Outdoor activities like dogsledding, snowshoeing, kayaking, and horseback riding are featured, and less active options such as seal and whale watching, museum visits, and walking tours are also included. There is advice about places to stay and eat. Suggestions for further reading are interspersed throughout the book. Paradoxically, though the authors cover a lot of ground, only thumbnail sketches are provided. All entries mention addresses and phone/FAX numbers, but opening hours are not always provided.
