Substantial manuscript notebook of anatomical notes and diagrams. Quarto, unpaginated: pp. [274] notes on lined paper, mainly in black or blue ink but with a few pages in red, and a few diagrams in text. 192 anatomical diagram plates in colour (ink and water-colour and pastels) on plain paper, mostly full-page with some illustrated to single side of plate and others to both sides; including 2 lift-the-flap studies of the colon and sacrum respectively. Half black calf with gilt titles to spine. Slightly shaken with wear to spine tips and corners, 2-inch splits to joints at head of spine and ring-stains to boards. Inner hinges split with ffep and following leaf partially detached. Ownership inscription to front paste-down and Author's name inscribed, in the same hand as his text, to ffep; a couple of leaves of text and single double-sided plate detached but complete, with associated nicks & creases to edge and tear to plate, otherwise contents clean. Highly detailed and neatly written study with beautifully executed diagrams, starting with The Arm and working through the various organs of the human body, presumed to have been compiled by an undergraduate during the completion of his studies.
