"My health is not very good but is holding out", 1 side 8vo., old identification in French at head, Annecy, 6th January Sue served as a surgeon in Spain (1823) and at Navarino (1827). He wrote a great number of novels idealizing the poor, and had a profound influence on Victor Hugo, whose Les Misérables has much in common with Sue's Les Mystères de Paris (1843). A republican deputy in 1851, he was driven into exile and died at Annecy.
