Slim folio, ff. [9] lithographs, [3] leaves with 6 mounted steel engraved plates on thick laid paper, [1] blank; plates all a little browned and foxed in places, first plate of Malvern with small marginal tear; in 20th century full green pebble-grained publisher's cloth, with red morocco label on upper cover lettered in gilt, tail of spine nicked and worn, covers a little cockled and lightly soiled; ex libris the Earl of Ilchester with armorial book-plate on front paste-down. An appealing personally compiled album of mid to late Victorian topographical plates depicting scenes and notable landmarks of Wales and the surrounding areas. The volume includes 9 full-page lithographs and six smaller steel engraved images, mounted on to three leaves of fine laid paper. The lithograph plates comprise: 1. The six steel engravings, mounted on 3 sheets, have all been drawn by the Birmingham born landscape painter David Cox (1783-1859) and engraved by William Radclyffe (1783-1855).
