[Naval Adventure] US SERIALISATION. Complete in six weekly issues. Octavo (25 x 18cm), each issue pp.128, in colour-illustrated paper covers, priced at 10c. Extremely heavily toned throughout to low quality paper, otherwise bright, barely handled copies. Near fine. The first Hornblower novel, originally published in the UK as 'The Happy Return' in 1937. A young Hornblower is captain of the 36-gun frigate Lydia; he sets his course for Spain and Nicaragua in his ongoing quest to cut Napoleon's lines wherever he crosses them.
