Contains 32 full pages of very lavish western religious illustration in bright, impressive color with intricate borders preceeded by their descriptions. Inside cover has bookplate from publisher signed by the managing director thanking the recipient for their support. #15 illustrates St. Bruno, topless, sleeping in his bishop hat (what I wear to bed also) dreaming of falling stars. Lavishly printed reproduction of the illuminated medieval book of hours commissioned by Jean Duc de Berry, featuring the exquisite miniature paintings, gilt decoration, and devotional texts of this Gothic manuscript created for the Burgundian nobleman's private worship.
