More than just an advertisement for the store, this book gives practical decorating advice as well as instructions for a few projects, such as distressing a cupboard and making "no-sew" drapes. Other books such as Terrence Conran's The Essential House Book (Crown, 1994) and Creative Interior Design (Ward Lock, 1994) provide more comprehensive information, but, this book is still recommended for large collections and for libraries near IKEA outlets.
