To be completed in about 12 sixpenny fortnightly parts, title page is the front cover of the first part of the series, printed on green/blue paper,144pp, illustrated with 68 full-colour portraits, biographies of army leaders, many involved in the Boer War in South Africa, (October 1899 - May 1902), occasional smudges to pages, pencil scrawl to p141 portrait of Lieutenant-Colonel W D Otter, floral patterned endpapers, front hinge weak, half red cloth, gold cloth spine and corners, gilt lettering to upper board, brown lettering to spine, corners a little frayed, some scuffs to boards. The Old Hall Bookshop was established in 1977 by John and Lady Juliet Townsend. The Old Hall is a very fine 18th century house in the centre of Brackley, a pleasant market town about 18 miles north of Oxford. The shop has a large stock of antiquarian, second-hand, new books and maps covering a wide range of interests and prices. We welcome visitors and trade customers. Parking is easy in the Market Square. Disabled access available. Opening hours: We are open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 5:30pm excluding bank holidays US Customs may now review all UK origin shipments. We ship books under HS CODE 4901.99.00 which remain duty free, though some US states may apply sales tax or handling charges.
