PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: Red cloth boards lettered in black and gilt in very good condition. Original dust jacket with b/w onlaid plate of van Dyck's 'The Artist's Wife' to front. A little shelf worn to edges and spine ends but otherwise in good condition. Text block very sound. Endpapers clean. Small vignette to half title page. b/w plate depicting 'The Artist's Wife' by A van Dyck to frontispiece. Attractive decorative title page. Fully illustrated containing original 10 b/w vignettes and 9 full page drawings of musical instruments. Decorative chapter head and tail pieces. Text block edges and leaves a little spotted throughout. Full page illustrations remain clean and in very good condition as noted on collation.
