Undated but c.1835. Three works bound in one volume. Seventh Edition; Sixth Edition; Ninth Edition. Small fat 8vo. (approx. 14 x 9cm) dark red cloth hardback, brown morocco title label, gilt, to spine. 228pp. plus 2pp. Publisher's List, illustrated with four small engravings. 253pp., illustrated with frontispiece and four other full page engravings. 208pp. with hand-coloured frontispiece. Ink name and dates (1839 and 1869) to early blank. Some pencil annotations to third work. Occasional light foxing. Covers rather rubbed with light edgewear. Overall a GOOD+ COPY. Canterbury is close to London (about 1 1/2 hours by train) and only 30 minutes drive from the Channel Tunnel. The Chaucer Bookshop is situated in a beautiful 18th Century building inside Canterbury's city walls. The building was originally one house but was established as a bookshop in 1956. The adjoining property was also later acquired and the bookshop greatly extended. Amongst the wide range of books (on 2 floors) you will find art, architecture, history, English literature, topography, travel, food and wine, railways and many more. We have a variety of original prints and maps for sale and a selection of modern First Editions and fine bindings. We also stock a comprehensive range of Fine Art greetings cards and wrapping paper.
