Small octavo; Second Edition. xvi, [2], 577p, 7 plates, complete. Original bright brown cloth boards, attractive and fresh. Endpaper hinges bear marks where they have been previously strengthened with tape though the hinges themselves seem quite secure. An unopened copy. Still a VG copy of an interesting and scarce work. James Croll ( 1821-1890) was a Scottish scientist whose theory of climate variability was based on variations in the earth's orbit.
