(viii), 414, (2) pp. Contemporary calf blind tooled boards, rebacked in a near matching calf, gilt lettered to one panel and dated at the foot, the endpapers evidently renewed at the same time with a cut-out window revealing an early ownership inscription of a H.F. Wollaston, another early inscription of an Ann Leighton to the head of the title page and a further inscription of a "Tho: L" to the opposing page. Some light wear to the boards, some intermittent browning to the leaves, very good overall. Naturalist and member of the Royal Society, Ray first published this collection anonymously in 1670.
