[Medical papers] FIRST THUS. Octavo (23 x 16cm), pp.ix [3] 600. With eight plates and ten in-text woodcuts. Publisher's brown cloth, decoration in blind to boards and a small gilt illustration of Gull to upper. Gilt titles to spine. All edges red. Yellow coated endpapers. Faint, infrequent spotting throughout. Some heavier spotting to first/last few leaves. Endpapers rubbed. Top edge toned. Some rubbing to joints, mild edgewear with some fraying to extremities. Very good. The invaluable work of a pioneering figure in English medicine - Gull's work on diseases, in particular nervous disorders such as paraplegia and anorexia nervosa, made incredible strides in the field of human biology. Also featured here are writings on diseases of vascular, respiratory, digestive, and epidermic natures.
