A gentleman's gift for a gentlemanly sport, presented to H. Wallace, the Shanghai Lawn Bowls Association singles champion, on the occasion of the interport match in Hong Kong. Following its introduction in the early 20th century, bowls was a popular pursuit in colonial Hong Kong, and the first league competition was held in 1910. Metal case with clasp (80 x 103 mm), engraved monogram and pattern, inner front cover with engraved inscription, maker's mark in Chinese ("Liang") and "N.K." punched on inner rear cover. General signs of age, ribbon no longer present: very good. Seller Inventory # 192498
