Seventh Impression and Fifth Impression 2 Volumes. 8vo. jade green cloth hardbacks, gilt, in unclipped dust jackets. 305pp. and 270pp. A clean set with no markings or inscriptions. Light foxing to prelims and foredges. Gilt titles to spine a little dulled and cloth edges and spines somewhat faded, particularly Second Series. Dust jacket spines somewhat tanned, with slight loss to top and base of Second Series.Covers and flaps a little foxed and areas of rear cover of Second Series faded. Canterbury is close to London (about 1 1/2 hours by train) and only 30 minutes drive from the Channel Tunnel. The Chaucer Bookshop is situated in a beautiful 18th Century building inside Canterbury's city walls. The building was originally one house but was established as a bookshop in 1956. The adjoining property was also later acquired and the bookshop greatly extended. Amongst the wide range of books (on 2 floors) you will find art, architecture, history, English literature, topography, travel, food and wine, railways and many more. We have a variety of original prints and maps for sale and a selection of modern First Editions and fine bindings. We also stock a comprehensive range of Fine Art greetings cards and wrapping paper.
