pp [ii], 6, 501, [3]. 5 leaves have small cuts out of the fore margins, without loss of text. Full contemporary calf, with two small faults to spine. Heister (1683-1758) was professor of surgery and anatomy at Helmstedt who published notably on surgery and botany. He is remembered as the first to use the term 'tracheotomy' and for his work on the appendix. This first edition in English of his works was translated by Edmund Baker.
