First edition. Folio (42.5 x 27cm). 'An eleaborate work, codifying the best current practice in all departments of agriculture.' - Williams. pp. [iv],[8],ii,719,[1],[4]. With a frontispiece and 12 plates, the second plate (only) with a mild damp-stain, presumably acquired prior to binding. With three additional leaves not always found, and when so in various points in the volume, ESTC calling for only two extra leaves. An excellent clean & fresh copy in contemporary mottled full calf, the spine in eight panels with raised bands and label, gilt. Small remnant of old paper label to spine in upper panel, perhaps an old auctioneers label. Very neatly re-hinged, area of leather on rear board with excellent repair to area of loss. Some rubbing/slight loss over some of the cords on the hinges, but not affecting the joints which are quite sound. One (folding) plate slighty proud of the text block on the fore-edge with some light soiling to that proud margin, but that plate tightly bound. VG.
