Das historische Hauptwerk Smolletts, es erschien später noch eine fünfbändige "Continuation". Die Kupfertafeln zeigen Regenten, Notabeln und historische Szenen. Alle Bände mit gestochenen Exlibris (Henry Whitmash, Esq.) und Namenszug auf Titel. Faltkarte und Faltkupfer teils mit hinterlegten Einrissen, Einband teilweise berieben und bestoßen, hin und wieder gebräunt, Vorsätze mit leichten Abklatschspuren des Ledereinbandes. Insgesamt mit stärkeren Gebrauchsspuren.
