Quarto (28 x 22cm). Date is approximate. pp. viii,951. With the full compliment of 43 Moule steel-engraved county maps, plus seven other maps and plans including Oxford & London, plus additional engraved title & 2 portraits of Queen Victoria. 'Thomas Moule's maps were used in some of the many editions of what is commonly referred to as Barclay's Dictionary between 1840 and 1852. The imprints were removed from the maps before being used, but otherwise they were identical. Their use in the dictionary has popularised the maps, making them available to a far greater readership than an atlas is normally exposed to.'- Beresiner.
