This is the 5th American edition (which has been revised and enlarged) of the author's seminal publication on phrenology, a pseudomedical st udy focused on measurements of the human skull. Book is bound in green blind stamped cloth with gilt spine decorations and lettering. A few black & white drawings, 12mo size, 396pp + publisher's catalog tipped- in at the rear. A Good copy, binding a bit dull from moderate soiling, gold spine lettering faded but readable. Head of spine has small fray s to the cloth, base of spine rubbed. Owner's name on front fly. Scatt ered foxing through-out the text, light water spot on the bottom edge of the rear pastedown. Despite the flaws a readable copy with solid se wing. Seller Inventory # 68826
