Independent Burma's first democratic constitution printed in Rangoon in 1947, bound in blue printed wrappers with a parallel transliterated text in Burmese and English, presentation inscription on title page in Burmese hand, browning around staples, otherwise very good. Drafted by Chan Htoon this constitution was used from the country's independence in 1948 to 1962, when it was suspended by the socialist party led by Ne Win; the country is now using a revised version of the constitution which was implemented in 2008.
