Bion, particularly of those invented or improved by the English. Tall 4to. Hardcover, Pp. 325. Illustrated with images and diagrams, based on the original copper plates. A large format reprint by Holland Press, of the second and English edition of Bion's famous work on early scientific instruments, translated and supplemented by Edmund Stone; originally published in 1758. Strictly limited to 500 copies. In very good condition, with some shelf-wear to the cover. Dust-jacket is torn in top left corner and bottom left corner/ bottom of the spine. Corners also slightly worn and some markings/ watermarks on the cover. Spine is also slightly faded. Dust-jacket unclipped. Pages themselves are clean and unmarked with no annotations or creases. Nicolas Bion was an 18th Century maker of mathematical and astronomical instruments, and a globe and sphere merchant. His places of birth and death are unknown. Seller Inventory # 036407
