Cloth, small 8vo, xiii, 200 pp. Approximately 300 entries. An interesting work, chiefly devoted to two bibliographical chapters dealing with Books on the Bank of England and Books on the National Debt. Entries are briefly annotated. Further material includes four brief biographies : of the Bank's founder, William Paterson; the first Governor, Sir John Houblon; the first Deputy Governor, Michael Godfrey; and an early Chief Cashier Abraham Newland. There is a 9 page chronology of events from 1694 and indexes of names and subjects. Top edge of textblock smokestained, otherwise /Near Fine.
