xxii, [2], 312 pp. Blue cloth in dust jacket. Jacket spine is sunned and panels are slightly darkened with a few light marks. Some annotations to front flap of jacket, rear blank and briefly to some leaves in the text. Otherwise internally in very good condition. This book follows Russell's course of lectures on the Philosophy of Leibniz at Trinity College, Cambridge, after which he still was unable to understand the grounds for many of Leibniz's opinion; why monads could not interact, the Identity of Indiscernibles and the Law of Sufficient Reason. Using his reading of 'Discours de Metaphysique' and Leibniz' letters to Arnaud, Russell contextualises the reasoning of Leibniz's philosophy and suggests the greater value of Leibniz' philosophy as might be thought.
