FIRST EDITION, title-page printed in black and grey, a few pages with tiny nick at leading edge, pp. 189, [2], crown 8vo, original black boards, backstrip lettered in white with small decorations in green and ochre, slight lean to spine, top edge lightly spotted, dustjacket with a design by Timothy Birdsall, slightly nicked and rubbed at extremities with a small chip at head of lower joint-fold, faint waterstain at foot of upper flap-fold (largely only visible internally), very good. The author's debut, based on his reckless twenties in Chelsea (following education at Eton College); a glossary at the head of the text provides a guide to the 'criminal' slang that pervades the text.
