This third edition discusses Astronomy, Geology and Paleontology, Geography, and the Physical Sciences "with special attention to the great marvel of our times, the Electro-magnetic Telegraph". Near very good in publisher's cloth with gilt titles, some wear to the spine ends. Internally clean with attractive engraved frontispiece of the Great Rosse Telescope and vignette of Sir Humphry Davy's safety lamp.
