After a lifetime of devotion to the study of curriculum, Arthur “Wells” Foshay presents his brilliant perspectives in this new, comprehensive volume. Describing in detail the Curriculum Matrix, Foshay outlines how it can aid educators in sorting out intricate aspects of the curriculum. Throughout, Foshay backdrops the study of the curriculum from the standpoint that its purpose is to maximize human potentialities. Readers will find analyses of school subjects that pertain to curricular debate, conversations about curricular theory, and a rich articulation of the substance, purpose, and practice of the curriculum. This important contribution to the curriculum field by one of its pioneers challenges and engages readers. Foshay’s experience as a teacher, principal, researcher, consultant, and eminent scholar will continue to invigorate generations to come.
