Subjects include inflammation, abscesses, sutures, hernias, dropsy, castration, stones, harelips, cataracts, head wounds, aneurysms, amputation of any part of the body you can think of (and some you'd rather not), and problems with the male reproductive system, rectum, urinary tract, and liver (including cancer of the liver). At the end of volume I is a five-page bibliography that includes dates of the works consulted.Of the three plates (two of which are signed by Juan Garcia), two depict instruments and one shows an eye operation.
