About this Item
This is the 1959 reprint of "All the Day Long" by Welsh author Howard Spring, that was published in London by The Book Club. Spring was a serious, successful and very popular author, creating stories for both adults and children. The jacket blurb is brief and to the point : "Maria Legassick is the youngest of the three daughters of a Cornish vicar, and she tells the story of what happened in a swiftly-changing world to herself, her sisters, and her brilliant, gifted brother, Roger -- whom she loved too well; Louisa, whom she admired but could never love; Bella, whom she more and more despised. Beginning in a world that seems unchanging, the book moves into our own time, clouded with menace and anxiety, and it leaves Maria where she began -- back in her Cornish vicarage, with nothing left but her memories." Readers should find the novel thoroughly interesting and satisfying. Very nice that the book's dust-jacket is still present.
