Internally, [8], [1], 2-183 pp, (which includes the Testimonia Vetervm (158-183), ink name to fep (David MCaull), and again to verso also David Eurof Walters 1903 (Welsh minister and writer 1874-1942), titlepage with ink number to top & bottom corner, attractive printers devices and initial capitals, dedication signed by Gerardus Johannes Vossius (1577-1649), some underlining & light offsetting throughout, page 170 mis-numbered 160. The first English publication came in 1636. 0Uncommon. (ESTC lists 1636 & 1661 copies only). (Folio, 15.5*21.3 cms). Hugo Grotius, also known as Huig de Groot, Hugo Grocio or Hugo de Groot, was a jurist in the Dutch Republic. With Francisco de Vitoria and Alberico Gentili he laid the foundations for international law, based on natural law.
