Three volumes, octavo (23 x 14.5cm). The first English edition, translated by Thomas Taylor 'the Platonist', who earned £60 from the translation. Vol. I, pp. xvi,444; Vol. II, pp. [iv],383; Vol. III, pp. [iv],424. With two folding maps & five folding plates. Richard Cobden's copy, with his engraved bookplate to each volume. Some occasional foxing (slighty more so to maps & plates), lower front board to the second volume with a light stain, which has slighly affected the fep. & half-title.
