Folio,[40 x 26 cm.] Sixth edition, [6] 20, 460,[2] 275 [1], 58, 24, [22]pp, [10 index] in three parts, title red and black printed. 64 plates including Portraits, Armorial Bearings [6 partly coloured], plate of 24 ensigns, approx 2000 coats of arms within the text, [16 partly coloured.[the "best edition of a work still in general use, and the best of that kind that was ever published" (Lowndes)]. * The Lowther Copy* [Earls of Lonsdale] Bound in full brown diced calf, raised bands, gilt ruled, gilt Lowther crests to boards, marbled end papers, with family book plate, marbled foredges. Lowndes 956. Handsome Copy. Excellent.
