A Disquisition on Creation, Annihilation, the Future Existence, and Final Happiness of All Sentient Beings (Classic Reprint)

Hook line: Explore a careful argument for the eternity of matter and the immortality of the soul. This work probes how reason, faith, and natural philosophy meet in a foundational discussion.

The disquisition begins with a bold aim: to show that some form of existence—mind as well as matter—must endure from eternity. It then surveys the nature of God, creation, and the order of the world, arguing that finite beings participate in a larger plan of conscious existence. The author uses clear, step‑by‑step reasoning to connect physical reality with spiritual life, without assuming any single creed.

Readers are invited to follow the logic about why creation is gradual rather than instantaneous, how mind and body relate, and why happiness for all sentient beings may unfold across possible futures. The discussions extend to foreknowledge, free will, and the compatibility of divine attributes with the observed order of the world.
