Enlarged edition, 8vo (215 x 130 mm), vii, [5], 141, [1], 35, [1] pp., a little foxing at the beginning and end, contemporary half calf, hinges cracked, spine lettered in gilt, a good clean copy. The anonymous author of this volume "dedicatee his work to Sir John Sinclair, Foster Father of Agriculture. His universal compost was a substitute for manure and could be manufactured by everyone at small expense to supply the deficiency which existed all over the United Kingdom."Fussell.
