About the Author

Samantha Smith and Alexa Smith's parents divorced when they were four and six years old, making them the first of their friends to be part of a divorced family. They quickly learned that their lives as they knew it would never be the same and their lives compared to their friend's would also be different. As they navigated elementary school and high school, they learned through trial and error, how to survive: two houses, two sets of rules and the many additional issues they had to face with two homes and divorced parents. Over time, they became the 'go-to' divorce experts for their friends on topics like; kids and divorce, dealing with parents while they go through the divorce and after, and dealing with teachers, friends, family and more when divorce occurs. Their friends wanted to know what to expect, what to do and how to handle things. As they realized they were frequently giving the same advice, they decided to put their tips in an easy-to-read format and make it available for kids all over the world.
