INSIDE DOPE: Surviving Addiction by Rufus J. Davis Jr. is an informative and very honest no-holds-barred memoir that explores the realities and consequences of drug addiction. The book takes the reader inside the life and recovery of a man who has experienced this harrowing journey first-hand, from a habit’s early beginnings to the devastating full-blown, hard-core addiction. This very candid volume offers personal experiences as well as provides proven strategies and suggestions on how to stop using and get the addiction under control, as well as how to ultimately construct a satisfying and productive life without drugs.
After honorably serving in the United States Air Force for four years during the Vietnam War, Rufus J. Davis Jr. returned to the States and worked in a number of professions, from insurance salesman to self-employed garage owner. It was during those working years that Mr. Davis also developed an on-and-off addiction to crack cocaine that lasted for over 25 years. Drug free now for over 5 years, Mr. Davis currently resides in Delaware, works as a railroad foreman, and is the proud father of four children.
