About this Item

A smartly bound mixed set of the third and fourth editions of Shakespeare's words edited by Samuel Weller Singer. The set was originally published in 1826. 10 vols, small octavo (162 x 100 mm). Decorative head- and tailpieces and initials. Contemporary red half morocco, spines lettered and decorated in gilt, compartments bordered in black, marbled sides, endpapers, and edges. Neat 1886 prize inscription to one E. S. Sandys, Exmouth in vol. 1, prize name inscribed in other volumes. A few spots of rubbing, light foxing to endpapers. A bright set.
