Original half brown morocco, decorative titles stamped in gilt to upper covers, yellow coated endpapers. 2 chromo-lithographed titles by Owen Jones and 81 (40 & 41) plates of which 3 in the first volume are also chromo-lithographed by Jones.* Armorial bookplates "E Libris Roberti Comitis de Crewe." Occasional light spotting generally a handsome set. Abbey mistakenly lists a total of 82 plates, including the titles (rather than 83) omitting the first plate in volume one, Plan of San Clemente, which is included in the List of Plates and present here, as normal. The plates show churches in Rome, Ravenna, Toscanella, Pavia, Lucca, Bergamo, Florence, Bologna, Breschia, Milan, Venice, Arezzo, Montefiascone, Pisa, Bari, Modena, Ancona, Murano, Spoleto, San Leone, Verona, San Donino, Trent, Vercelli, Assisi, Padua, Cremona, Parma, Siena, Orvieto, Perugia, San Quirico, Piacenza, Genoa, Ferrara, Monza and Rimini.
