Extremely uncommon provincially printed miniature book in near original condition, virtually 200 years old. These were designed to fit easily into a pocket or the palm of a hand, reflecting the 19th-century demand for portable, personal devotional texts - for intimate, personal meditation, or as a thoughtful, pocket-sized gift, often used by laypeople in their daily life. Rather than being produced by a large, well-known London religious society, this edition was published by T. Groom, a small printer located at Islington-Row in Birmingham.
