Half title, front.; the odd spot, worse to prelims & endleaves, textblock sl. looses. Orig. green cloth, blocked in black & gilt, spine lettered in gilt; extremities v. sl. rubbed, spine a bit darkened & chipped at head. A nice copy. Not in Glover & Greene. Not in Hubin, who lists only one title by the author. Virtual copies of this edition only on Copac. Sadleir 3504 noting that these papers first appeared in Chambers's Journal. COPAC records 'The Experiences of a Barrister' by Samuel Warren, first published in New York in 1852. This work is a collection of 11 stories divided into four categories: 'Experiences of a Barrister', 'Confessions of an Attorney', 'The Bankrupt's Son', and 'Infallible Judgments' [sic]. Samuel Warren, 1807-1877, was an MP, barrister, and novelist known particularly for his Passages from the Diary of a Late Physician, published in Blackwood's Magazine from 1830-1837.
