The sections on pest management are especially useful and emphasize natural and biological controls. The majority of the advice appears to be provided free of personal interest, alhough the owner of a nursery for seedling perennials suggests buying such plants to save costs. Most gardeners will find enjoyment and useful tips while browsing through this book; its value for reference will depend a great deal on the quality of the index, which was not available at the time of review.
