In this book, the concept of Teaching Moments is explored by first introducing the reader to the theoretical formulation of the concept and then sharing with the reader the highlights of how the concept was actualised and demostrated in a mathematics classroom in Pakistan. It underscores how initial teacher education programmes could help student teachers build self-capacity to exploit the concept of teaching moments so as to effectively use it in their own mathematics classrooms for enhancing students' learning of mathematics.

About the Author

Has taught Mathematics at both primary and secondary school levels at a number of schools in Tanzania before moving to the Aga Khan University, Institute for Educational Development, Eastern Africa where he currently works as a lecturer in mathematics education and Teacher Learning.
