About the Authors

SANDRA LUNA MCCUNE, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus and a former Regents Professor in the Department of Elementary Education at Stephen F. Austin State University, where she received the Distinguished Professor Award. She now is a full-time author and consultant. She resides in Dripping Springs, Texas.

Jeffery S. Kaplan, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and Program Coordinator of English Language Arts Education in the College of Education and Human Performance’s School of Teaching, Learning, and Leadership at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida. He received the University of Central Florida Excellence in Professional Service Award in 2014.
