Facing Recovery is a collection of seventeen first-person stories from individuals who are experiencing the development of mind, body, and spirit through Recovery Caf� Muncie, a supportive community committed to love, equality, and inclusion for anyone facing recovery.

Topics explored in the narratives cover addiction, mental health, loneliness, living with a disability, housing insecurity, and domestic assault, among others, and capture the realities of life in recovery from 10 days in to 30 years later.

About the Author

Dr. Kathryn Ludwig is an Assistant Teaching Professor of English at Ball State University where she teaches writing and literature, specializing in contemporary American literature. Her scholarship deals with the intersection of religion and literature. In her graduate work, she pursued a concentration in Jewish philosophy, especially the works of Martin Buber and Emmanuel Levinas. She has published articles and presented papers on the notion of the post-secular in contemporary literature and is an officer with the American Religion and Literature Society.
