The Fall of Krotharion: The Embers of Knowledge

THE FALL OF KROTHARION: The EMBERS OF KNOWLEDGE

A Fantasy Novel by Shane Gerry

The Library was never just a place. It was a vault of memory, a cradle of power-and now, a smoldering ruin.

Krotharion, once the greatest mind of the Timeless Library, has become something else-something bound to an ancient Codex that speaks in forbidden glyphs and reshapes reality with every turn of the page.

As the world fractures under spells too old to name, five scattered survivors of the Order must uncover the one thing that can unbind the Codex's influence: a True Name shattered by time and myth. But each step into the arcane brings them closer to the truth-that the Codex isn't just rewriting the world...

It's rewriting them.

From swamps that echo with the voices of the dead, to cities held together by fire and prophecy, The Fall of Krotharion is a gripping epic of lost knowledge, haunted magic, and the sacrifice required to defy a destiny written in ash.

Knowledge is power. But some truths were never meant to be read.

Shane Gerry is a writer who understands what it means to be unheard. His work has lived in the margins—passed over by the literary world—but never abandoned. Through rejection and long nights, he kept writing. Not for fame. Not for praise. But because the stories refused to stay silent.
Now living in Vermont, Shane works as a pest control technician and is the proud father of a one-year-old daughter, Willow. Much of this book was written in the stolen hours between work and parenting, with her laughter in the background and her future in his thoughts.
The Fall of Krotharion: The Embers of Knowledge is his second novel—but in many ways, it's his most personal. It was written with Willow in mind, so that one day, long after he's gone, she can still hear his voice in the words, still walk through the worlds he built, and know that her father never gave up on his dreams. And neither should she.
Because stories are more than words on a page—they're the pieces of us we leave behind.
