The cookery section contains lengthy instructions on the purchase of all sorts of provisions and how to store them followed by several hundred receipts in cookery, pastry, pickling, confectionary (sic), distilling, brewing, cosmeticks, &c. together with the art of making English wines contains much that could be used today with little alteration. The second part being a compendious body of physick succinctly treating all the diseases and accidents incident of men, women and children is better read and not practised.
