The species accounts have sections on identification, habits, distribution, and similar species. A unique feature is a section of 764 color photos taken by 300 naturalists. Harrison's seabird definition is expansive, including not only truly pelagic petrels and shearwaters but also gulls, penguins, loons, pelicans, etc. Both books deserve wide use in academic and public libraries.
