Reviews
This book grew out of a series of articles that started with "Fifty Ways To Love Your Liver." Schloss, a writer and chef, and Bookman, former food editor of the Philadelphia Inquirer , went on to develop recipes for "Fifty Ways To Beat the Heat," " . . . To Survive a Turkey," and more. Recipe instructions are bare bones, none longer than a paragraph, but the recipes themselves range from basic to elaborate and sophisticated (techniques are covered in an appendix). The simpler chapters (pizza toppings, muffins) probably work best as a source for ideas for the busy cook, but the whole book is fun for browsing, and the gimmick is one that is sure to attract readers. Recommended for most collections. HomeStyle Bks. main selection; Quality Paperbacks alternate.
